"It's modern-day comfort when you want to nourish yourself and the planet." – Julie Van Rosendaal, The Globe and Mail

A BIG welcome to those who signed up for my newsletter after hearing my speech at the Women4ClimateTO event last week. This was a closed event, so I don’t have many photos and clips to share – here’s one. You can also watch the roundup video that I did on IG. The video was really a thank-you message for everyone involved. I have so much gratitude for the room, the people, the hosts and all the participants. There were a ton of mindful conversations and questions afterwards, and I was wonderstruck at the inspiration and energy we generated in that space.

I started my speech asking people to “Imagine, you’re 8 years old”, and even standing behind the podium as I was, I could feel a shift in energy in the room. Were you there?

Drop me a note if you were at the Women4Climate TO event on Thursday – I would love to hear from you.

Earth Day is Every day - Puneeta at the Women4ClimateTO event

The Big Picture

I said this at the event on Thursday, I said it in the video on Instagram, and I am saying it here, now: there are a lot of “does it even matter” conversations going on right now. Against the backdrop of unnecessary war and violence that is being inflicted by powerful governments, it’s absolutely valid that so many of us feel this way.

I don’t have all the answers, but what is clear to me is that the only way to navigate through this mess is by conserving our resources, focusing on what’s important, protecting nature and by default, across the board choosing low-waste, low-impact activities, products, services, and food.

All Healing is Universal

What is also crystal clear is that when we act in this way, we feel better. We relate to each other better. Because when we act with respect towards the planet and work to heal it, we heal ourselves.

For those who were at the event on Thursday, you know the words #HelpSister 💚

Drop me a note if you would like to know more about what this means or to invite me to speak to your group! So, whether you are hosting an event for your organization or team, community or corporation – let’s talk! And let’s make change happen!

Visit a Repair Cafe this May

…because Earth Day is every day

You may have heard me say, Earth Day is every day. In this same spirit, visit a repair cafe in your neighbourhood. There are a ton of them being organized in May, also known as “not Earth Month” 🙂

What are Repair Cafes

Repair Cafés are a growing trend around the world. They are free meeting places where people get together to repair things. That’s it – there is no exchange of money, just skills and gratitude. In some cafes, you will find tools and materials to help you make the repairs you need. In some, there will be experts and hobby-fixers who have the skills you need to fix a switch or a zipper, or mend your clothes and repair furniture, appliances, bicycles, crockery, and toys. In some places, you will find both.

If you know of a Repair/ Reuse/ Repurpose Cafe being organized in May, tag me on Instagram, and I will share it for you. Here are the links I have found:
